Peter Stacey is a former University Professor of Ecology, who now devotes his energy fulltime to photography. He focuses upon landscape photography and on portraits of birds and flowers. He is also working on a book which combines a narrative of cultural history, land use ecology, and photography to tell the story of indigenous and Hispanic farming communities in the Rio Puerco Valley in northern New Mexico. He has published his work in various magazines and books, and exhibited at the Red Dot Galley, Santa Fe, the Fine Arts Gallery at Santa Fe Community College, the Fountain Valley School in Colorado, and SITE Santa Fe, a contemporary art museum in Santa Fe. In 2018, he was made a SITE Santa Fe Scholar, meant to recognize emerging visual artists in New Mexico.
